I have worked at Bringsty Forge for nearly two decades producing hot forged work for commissions, shows, galleries and public spaces. I carry out repairs, restoration work and have made tools for businesses and tradesmen. I am a Bronze Medal holder which was awarded to me by the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths and can therefore use the title "Master Blacksmith" and the letters FWCB after my name.

Jubilee Gate for 3 Counties Showground

A gate designed for the 3 Counties showground to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Well cover

A well cover made to be easily removable by the clients. The design is based on ripples on water, the brackets are harts tongue ferns.

Tea plant and brass bee balustrade

A balustrade over 4 floors in a Victorian town house with feature tea plant and bee decoration. Wax finish.

Poppy and wheat arrangement

Fabricated vase with rusted and lacquered poppy and brass brushed wheat.

Barn staircase detail

Detail of the joinery on an external staircase to an old barn. Galvanised and etched finish.

Owl

A swooping owl sculpture. Rust finish for the owl on a galvanised and etched stand.

Privacy screen

The clients wanted a visual barrier to their patio as the neighbours had cut down their high hedges. My solution was this screen with coloured glass and galvanised and etched finish.

Gate, pilasters and panel

Contemporary design for a new build apartment block with galvanised and etch finish with gilded decoration.

Stair gate and handrail

Interior gate and handrail, wax finish with traditional joinery and oak leaf and acorn decoration.

Bird feeder

The client had an old gate post which they wanted to turn into a bird feeder. I added a broken gate and railings, rust finish, and cow parsley with bird feeders in the stems, galvanised and etched.

Driveway and pedestrian gate

Forged and riveted construction with feature I beam forged top posts. Galvanised and etched finish with rusted house number.

Reproduction gate and estate fencing

A copy of existing gates and railings using reclaimed and new materials. Rust finish to match existing railings. The gate has an offset hinge to self close.

Hellebore handrail

Sleeper terracing, fabricated steps, hellebore decoration and forged and riveted handrails. Galvanised and etched finish.

Stacked railing panels

A photo taken before site fixing of some feature railing panels. Galvanised, etched, primed and painted.

Gothic style traditionally joined garden bench with landscape edging to fit into a bank overlooking a pond. Galvanised and etched finish.

Forged garden arch with feature foliage to provide visual interest when the climber died back in the winter months. Galvanised and etched finish.
